Hi, I'm Lily Rivere, a 23 year old aspiring marine ecologist & wildlife and naturalist artist who has had a lifelong fascination with the natural world. Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by the formation of various colors, textures, and patterns in different animals and nature's little treasures like seashells, bird feathers, and even rocks. Over time, that curiosity grew into a passion for both art and science, two fields that continue to shape the way I observe, understand, and appreciate the world around me.
As an artist, I am constantly studying the textures, colors, and behaviors of the animals I create. As a scientist, I use that same attention to detail to better understand wildlife, ecosystems, and the relationships that connect them. The more I learn about nature through science, the more inspired I become as an artist.
I want to share my love of animals and nature with the world in an effort to find the people who feel and appreciate the beauty of the natural world just as much as I do.
My background
From an early age, I found myself drawn to the small details that make nature extraordinary—the iridescence of a feather, the spiral of a seashell, the grain of a stone worn smooth by water. Those early observations taught me to look closely, and that habit of looking has stayed with me ever since.
Today, I am pursuing a path as a marine ecologist while continuing to grow as a wildlife and naturalist artist. Both pursuits ask the same question in different ways: how do living things take shape, adapt, and connect within the world around them?
My journey
What began as childhood curiosity has become a lifelong practice of observation. In the studio, I study the textures, colors, and behaviors of the animals I draw and paint. In the field and the lab, I bring that same attention to understanding ecosystems and the relationships that sustain them.
Art and science feed one another for me—the more I learn, the more I want to create, and the more I create, the more carefully I learn to see. This website is my way of sharing that work with people who feel the same wonder for the natural world.
